Solitaire Lodge
Luxury Lodges / North
Located on a private peninsula overlooking Lake Tarawera, Solitaire Lodge provides a luxurious setting where the focus is on peace and tranquillity.
Styled with absolute comfort in mind, all nine suites feature panoramic lake views from their own decks, as well as from the bedrooms or lounges, or both. Freestanding baths, some positioned outside, also allow you to take in Lake Tarawera’s still, deep waters while soaking your cares away.
Solitaire Lodge’s full board tariff includes accommodation, complimentary mini bar with extensive selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, pre-dinner drinks and canapés, five course dinner, full country breakfast and light lunch.
Each meal prepared by the talented chefs changes daily and features contemporary New Zealand cuisine prepared with fresh local ingredients, complemented by a variety of superb wines from selected regional vineyards.
Easy lake access allows exploration of surrounding waters, secluded private bays, and a three-hour hike to 65-metre waterfalls and natural thermal hot springs in which to soak and unwind. Embark on an adventurous scenic helicopter flight with Volcanic Air over the surrounding volcanic landscape and land on an active volcano. Catch a good sized rainbow trout for dinner, or explore tranquil waters in a kayak or motorised dinghy.
While the lodge is the perfect place to simply get away from it all to relax, indulge and rejuvenate, it’s also only a 20-minute drive from the Rotorua city centre and the activities and attractions this tourist hub is famous for.
