Similar to our Rotorua Proud stories, our new series of “fives” will feature local businesses and their top five recommendations, steps, cocktails, dishes, etc.
First up is Ann Gregor-Greene, lodge manager at Peppers on the Point. The team at this 5-star boutique lodge perched on the shore of Lake Rotorua is renowned for making guests feel special from the moment they arrive at the beautiful heritage property.

Here are the top five things Ann says she and her team do to ensure their guests enjoy an excellent stay at Peppers.
ONE: The moment our guests arrive we greet them at their car door. They are then taken on a full tour around the property as we highlight all the amenities available to them, including the gym, massage treatment room and grounds.
TWO: We offer a welcome drink and take time to discuss their plans for their stay. We love to gather as much information as possible prior to our guests’ arrival at the 5-star boutique lodge, such as any dietary requirements, whether they wish to dine with us, if there’s a special occasion for their visit, and what they want to do while visiting Rotorua. We always like to acknowledge special events and enjoy making a fuss!
THREE: Team members are on hand to provide carrots and help guests feed the array of animals on site, collect eggs, pick fruit from the trees, or walk the sheep. Families with younger children love these activities!
FOUR: We celebrate all public holidays and special event dates with room drops.
FIVE: We like to offer alternative dining venues for our guests, from on the beach at the lake’s edge, to balconies or in our dedicated dining areas.
